A child sex offender who removed his GPS monitoring bracelet and went on the run is due back in court.
Daniel Livingstone is expected to appear in Hutt Valley District Court this morning charged with breaching conditions of his release.
Livingstone was jailed for the abduction and rape of a 10-year-old girl in Whangarei in 2006 and was released last year.
But he triggered a manhunt on Thursday when his bracelet alarm went off, and Corrections found the discarded bracelet in his Upper Hutt home.
Livingstone was caught on Friday after a member of the public spotted him near the Naenae shops in the Hutt Valley.
Corrections announced on Monday that it would commission an operational review which would scrutinise whether the department did all it could to manage him correctly.
