A 29-year-old man has admitted stabbing a woman to death at an inner-city Auckland education institute earlier this year.
Mandeep Singh pleaded to guilty to murdering 22-year-old Parmita Rani and another charge of attempted murder in the High Court at Auckland this morning.
He appeared to be crying in the dock as he entered the plea through an interpreter.
Ms Rani and a 22-year-old man were attacked at the AWI International Education Group school near Karangahape Road in May.
Ms Rani, who had been studying in New Zealand since 2013, died at the scene, while the 22-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
