The man who has admitted the axe murder of an Upper Hutt woman and injuring three others will be sentenced next month.
Retimana Te Korou Nicholls, 37, was due to go to trial next week, charged with the murder of 55-year-old Sandra Guerin, who died from wounds suffered in an attack in her Timberlea home in December last year.
However, in the High Court at Wellington on Tuesday Nicholls pleaded guilty to murder and three other charges of grievous bodily harm, wounding and assault.
Ms Guerin's son Thomas Guerin, 20, was also attacked and Kane Love, 24, was attacked at a nearby property. Another woman Diane Misa was also hurt.
Nicholls, who has been in custody since his arrest, will be sentenced next month.
