Plunket's going high-tech in the way nurses record health checks of children under five, and the service provider says the new system will improve outcomes for every child.

Moving from pen and paper to tablet and app, the move is to keep Kiwi health professionals on par with the rest of the world.

The change is welcome news for Plunket nurses, who see 55,000 newborns every year, and it's hoped the new system will free up nurses to have more time with mums and babies.
