A fire which filled a high school toilet block with smoke and forced students to leave their classrooms is being treated as suspicious.
A toilet block at Okaihau College in the Far North caught fire this morning, and when the Fire Service arrived they found it was smoke-logged, Jaron Phillips told NZ Newswire.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and a fire investigator is heading to the scene.
Around 500 students from year 7 to 13 attend the school southwest of Kerikeri.
The school is right next to the Okaihau fire station, and some students volunteer for the local fire brigade.
