The man accused of killing Millie Elder-Holmes' boyfriend Connor Morris in a fight is set to stand trial.
Michael Murray, 34, will today appear in the High Court at Auckland charged with the murder of 26-year-old Mr Morris in west Auckland last August.
Mr Morris died after receiving head injuries during a fight between two groups on Don Buck Road in Massey.
He was the partner of Ms Elder-Holmes, the daughter of the late Sir Paul Holmes.
Last year Murray's lawyers had sought continued name suppression for the accused because of Mr Morris' connections to the Head Hunters gang but this did not continue. Suppressions of details of his family and remand location did remain.
Murray has been the subject of threats on social media.
On Saturday a convoy of more than 100 motorcyclists travelled through Auckland to pay tribute to Mr Morris a year after his death.
It was led by Mr Morris' father, Chris Morris, a Head Hunters leader, and ended at the gang's headquarters.
The trial is set down for four weeks.
