A Kapiti woman was attacked in her bed this morning in what police are calling a serious home invasion.
The woman was asleep around 5:50am when she woke to find a man she didn't know in her room, police say.
He then began punching her about her head before leaving the property.
Police were called to Paraparaumu Beach, where they used dogs to track down two people who are now helping police with their inquiries.
