Public complained about biker before fatal crash

A motorcyclist killed in a collision in Waikato had prompted a complaint about his riding just minutes before the crash.

Twenty-five-year-old Rotoorangi man Terrance Ward died in Waikato Hospital two days after an accident in Te Awamutu in which his bike collided with a car.

Inspector Freda Grace said police were already on their way to investigate his driving when the crash occurred.

"Minutes before the crash ... police had received a complaint from a member of the public via the *555 line about the nature of his riding," she said.

Police say they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
