Arrest made after Stirling Sports heist

A 17-year-old male has been arrested following the burglary of a Stirling Sports store in Waiapa, near Kerikeri last Tuesday.

Police arrested the teenager yesterday morning and he appeared in the Kaikohe District Court today.

He was one of a group of offenders who drove a vehicle into the side of the store and took a number of items. The other offenders are still at large.

Inspector Al Symonds says an investigation into the burglary is ongoing and more arrests are expected as information comes to hand.

Insp Symonds says police are appealing to the public for any information they may have regarding the heist, or any suspicious sports gear they may have seen for sale. Information can be passed on to the Kerikeri police station via (09) 407 9211 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
