Police are hunting a man accosting women in the Auckland suburb of Mt Albert.
The man has allegedly assaulted six women near the Pak'n Save supermarket and the Mt Albert train station, Detective Martin Friend says.
"This man is often approaching women from behind, putting his hands and arms around their necks and then trying to kiss them," he said.
"It's totally unacceptable behaviour and is usually happening in broad daylight."
The women were upset and frightened, Det Friend said.
The assaults took place over the past couple of weeks, police spokeswoman Tracie Simpson says.
The victims were aged from about 20-40 years and were often smaller women, she told NZ Newswire.
Police were keen to get the message out there in case there were other victims and to reach someone who can identify him, Ms Simpson said.
"We want to try to nab him before he does any more."
The man is described as of slim to medium build, about 165cm tall, and often wearing a beanie or cap.
