A second person has died after a crash in Christchurch last Saturday which involved van and a car.
Van driver Aliielua Fesili Salaivao, 38, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Police say he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
CCTV footage of the van shows it speeding the wrong way along Salisbury Street before the crash, Inspector Al Stewart said.
The driver of the car, Michael James Burnby, 44, died several days later, police said today.
The front seat passenger in the car remains in a critical condition in Christchurch Hospital.
The crash was one of three fatal crashes in the Canterbury in 48 hours - two in the CBD.
Trish Anne Beets, 44, died after a car and bus collided in central Christchurch on Sunday.
Steven Charles Skinner, 45, died after a car rolled on State Highway 8 near Lake Pukaki, north of Twizel.
