4.2 quake hit near Seddon

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake has been recorded near Seddon.

The quake at about 3am on Friday morning was 20km deep and was sited 15km southeast of Seddon in Marlborough, GeoNet says.

A total of 61 people reported they felt it and none reported damage. Most said it was of a light intensity.

Most houses in Seddon were damaged in August 2013 when a 6.6 earthquake hit 10km southeast of Seddon.
