A child was driving a stolen car that crashed after a police pursuit in Waikato.
Two girls, 13, and a 10-year-old boy were in the vehicle, which spun out of control at high speed and crashed down a four-metre embankment, a Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman says.
The crash happened at Ohinewai, north of Huntly, this afternoon.
A member of the public had reported a car driving poorly about 2pm around Mangateparu and pursued it, police say.
The driver failed to stop when officers arrived and the car crashed shortly afterwards.
They say the vehicle was reported stolen.
The boy was flown to Waikato Hospital and the girls were transported by ambulance.
A Waikato Hospital spokeswoman said two children, aged 10 and 13, with moderate injuries had been assessed in the emergency department and transferred to a ward in stable conditions.
