A man has died after a fuel tank exploded at an earthmoving company in the Waikato town of Otorohanga this afternoon.
Fire and ambulance services were called to the scene around 1pm, where a man was found with serious burns.
Fire service spokesperson Megan Ruru says they received a call from the ambulance about the explosion, and that one of the workers was covered in tar.
Despite efforts to revive him he died at the scene.
Police are investigating the incident on behalf of the coroner.
