The sentencing of a man who admitted to murdering a 71-year-old with a bottle in a Hamilton toilet has been delayed.
Turei Rawiri Kingi, 26, was due to be sentenced today in the High Court at Hamilton for the killing of Jacques Donker in August.
The sentencing will now take place on December 7 in the High Court at Auckland.
Mr Donker was found dead in the London Street toilets on August 10.
Police said he died from blunt force trauma to the head after being hit with a full bottle of whisky.
They said the attack was opportunistic and he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Kingi stole his car and police had to use road spikes to stop him north of Huntly.
He pleaded guilty to the killing in September.
