Police are warning the so-called "white van scam" appears to have made its way south into Dunedin.
They've received a number of complaints about young men in a white van selling seemingly legitimate home entertainment systems for 'discount' prices.
The goods are in fact non-branded knock-offs with no serial number and the warranty provided was worthless.
The scam was also reported in Christchurch, Hamilton and Auckland earlier this year.
