Inmates in prisons across the country are being treated with an extra special lunch to mark Christmas this afternoon.
Corrections says the day is one of routine and reflection for offenders, and it follows months of gift-making for those less fortunate.
Deputy National Commissioner Rachel Leota, says there's not a chance anyone will go hungry.
"This will be consisting of roast chicken and gravy, and associated vegetables, we just obviously supply a Christmas hot lunch instead of a hot dinner"
With the roast being served for lunch, which means prisoners will be having sandwiches at dinner.
