A diver who died off Wellington's south coast on Sunday has been named as former All Black Jerry Collins' cousin.
Willie Collins, a personal trainer and keen rugby player, was found unresponsive in the water around Lyall Bay just before 5:30pm on Sunday.
He was brought to shore by emergency services but attempts to revive him with CPR were unsuccessful.
Tributes have been flowing for Mr Collins on Facebook and a video of him with the soundtrack song 'The World's Greatest' has been uploaded to YouTube.
It's the second tragedy to strike the Collins' family this year, after his famous cousin Jerry Collins and his partner Alana Madill were killed in a car crash in France.
His death comes just a little over a week after another diver was found dead on the sea floor further around the south coast, near Red Rocks.
