A 23-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary in relation an incident where exam scripts were taken from the University of Otago.

The woman, whose name is supressed, appeared in the Auckland District Court this morning.

Her lawyer Paul Davison QC said she is a young woman "whose life has been lived impeccably" and has applied for a discharge without conviction.

Judge Harvey acknowledged  "she is very fragile… and there are clear mental health issues that arise".

She has been remanded on bail until sentencing in February next year.
