The eastern Bay of Plenty has been rattled by at least a dozen small earthquakes overnight.
The quakes, the strongest measuring 3.3, struck between 9pm and 11pm on Sunday, according to GeoNet.
They were centred about 10 kilometres northwest of Whakatane at depths of around 2.6km.
Most measured under 3 and were considered light but hundreds reported feeling the 3.3 quake.
The Fire Service says it received no reports of damage.
