Christchurch man missing

Concern is rising for a Christchurch man who has been missing since early yesterday.

Matthew James Adams, 29, hasn't been seen since he left his home to drive to the West Coast in the South Island.

Police describe him as Caucasian, 165 centimetres tall of thin build with blondish brown hair.

Mr Adams' car is a blue 2006 Mazda Axela hatchback, with the registration JCJ462.

"Matthew is believed to be heading towards the West Coast and was last known to be in the Arthurs Pass area. His family are worried and we'd like people to keep an eye out for him or his car," says acting senior Sergeant Wayne Corbett from the Tasman police district command centre.

Anyone with information is urged to call Greymouth police on (03) 768 1600.
