Police have arrested a man in relation to a string of BB gun shootings between National Park and Turangi yesterday.
Police say they are aware of four incidents, in which a man shot BBs from a moving vehicle between 5pm and 6:30pm on State Highway 47.
One person has been confirmed injured as a result of the shootings.
An appeal has been launched by police to try and locate a cyclist believed to be a victim, as well as anybody else who may have information regarding the attacks.
The first report came from a woman who had a BB hit her car windscreen. Police say the woman was then approached by a cyclist who had been shot in the hip - his identity is still unknown to police.
Another man taking photos was also shot in the shoulder and has sustained a welt on his shoulder.
Police pulled over a vehicle which around 6:30pm and a 19-year-old Turangi man was arrested at the scene.
He will appear before the Taupo District Court on Wednesday for charges of assaulting a person with a firearm.
