NZ soldier faces drug charges

A Kiwi soldier is set for a court martial on drug-related charges next month.

The New Zealand Defence Force says the unnamed soldier will face the charges at Linton Military Camp, in Palmerston North.

The soldier faces charges of civil offences contrary to the Armed Forces Discipline Act and the Psychoactive Substances Act.

These include supplying a psychoactive substance and doing an act likely to prejudice service discipline.

The Defence Force would not provide any other information, such as the name of the defendant or witnesses or more details around the alleged offending.
