Two people have been stabbed in the central Auckland suburb of Freemans Bay.
Police were called to the address, believed to be a block of pensioner flats, earlier this evening.
Senior Sergeant Matt Noseley says they tracked down the alleged offender to a separate address.
He was forcibly arrested after refusing to come out of the house and cooperate with police.
Police believe a knife was used to inflict the injuries, but haven't been able to find the weapon.
Officers remain at the scene, and a scene examination is currently underway.
