A cruisy trip to NZ for NRL legends

With the NRL Nines just days away, the Australians have begun descending on Auckland and while most are flying in, some have chosen a more cruisy style of transport.

Apparently cruising is the new flying. So when rugby league legends were invited to join Nines fans sailing across the Tasman, Broncos prop Adam Blair was keen.

New South Wales coach Laurie Daley, who has never been to the Nines, didnt want to miss the boat either.

"I think a lot of people in Australia are jealous that Auckland has the Nines. To see people excited about coming to the Nines made me excited, and I'm really looking forward to the weekend."

Cruising brings in $500 million per year, and it's a great way to transport a large quantity of fans to big sporting events.

But despite the "love boat" experience, Blair says he's fully focused on the job ahead of him and his Broncos outfit.

"We've got a tough draw, so were going to go out there and have some fun. And if we can do that for as much as we can, then I'm sure we will come away with some good wins."

Blair knows they'll face a strong threat from the Warriors, but he sees that as a positive for New Zealand rugby league.

"They've got a strong squad, and most of their backline is the Kiwi backline. They're going to go a long way in the competition."

While Blair's teammates haven't taken this cruise, he's expecting the whole team to be on board come Saturday.
