GeoNet has reported that another earthquake, this time a 4.3-magnitude tremor, has struck 10km east of Christchurch.

The quake is believed to be 20km deep, and occurred at 7:17pm.

Several people, including Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja, who is in Christchurch ahead of the second Test match against the Black Caps, said they felt the tremors on Twitter.

The Fire Service says there have been no reports of damage.

Nearly 1000 people reported feeling the light shaking, largely centred in Christchurch but with some reports coming in from further than Timaru and the lower North Island.
