The 23-year-old who died after being thrown from his car on a bend near the Ohakea air base has been named.
Carl Amey of Rongotea died on Saturday morning on Tangimoana Rd, near Ohakea, in Manawatu.
He died at the scene and another person was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The death is part of five on North Island roads during the Waitangi Day weekend.
