Copies of hard drives taken from will also be destroyed today.

It comes after a court ruled last year that a 10-hour search of his Wellington home was unlawful.

All clones made will be destroyed, but media have been banned from watching. Mr Hager will be present.

The search of the journalist's home in October 2014 came after the release of his book Dirty Politics, which was based on damning information taken from blogger Cameron Slater by an anonymous hacker.
