Life in a modern arranged marriage

Life in a modern arranged marriage

Imagine agreeing to marry someone you had never met before.

Imagine that person was on the other side of the world and your parents picked them for you.

For some Kiwis, arranged marriage is a fact of life and Story went to meet a guy who had never been on a date, never had a girlfriend, had never been in love but is now a married man.

Bikram Singh used to rely on his work mates for advice about the ladies but today he's a permanent Kiwi resident happily married to his wife Prabh Singh.

Ms Singh moved to New Zealand to live with Mr Singh in January and is still learning the language.

They had spoken on the phone for 30 minutes before agreeing to become engaged.

But it's a part of their life and culture so what is like being in a modern arranged marriage?
