One person is dead after a serious crash in Southland.
Police and emergency services attended a two vehicle crash at Winton Wreys Bush Highway, Oreti Plains.
One person died at the scene and another was taken to Southland Hospital in Invercargill with moderate injuries.
The road is closed and detours are currently in place.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the crash.
