Pair arrested after Hamilton chilli assault

Two men have been arrested and charged in relation to an alleged attack in Hamilton that took place in late February.

It comes after an 18-year-old, who has not been named due to legal reasons, was allegedly forced to eat hot chillies against his will in the basement of a city home.

Today, a 24-year-old man and his 29-year-old counterpart are due to appear before the Hamilton District Court charged with injuring with intent to injure, common assault and indecent assault.

According to police, the victim was attacked after he went to the city address to make amends for a prank call gone wrong.

He was then allegedly forced to eat the two extremely hot Bongo chillies, while being sexually assaulted and hit in the head.

Police are thanking the public for their assistance in the investigation.
