You may not have heard about it but New Zealand is about to take part in a major United Nations general assembly -- not about security or carbon emissions, but about the war on drugs.

New Zealand's latest drug guidelines say our laws on drugs are actually making the drug problem worse.

One piece of advice from a major drug policy expert is to "stop arresting people for drugs, legalise some of them and start offering them help."

So why have the laws not changed and are Kiwis even ready for the change?
