All lanes are now re-open after two crashes on Auckland’s Northern Motorway snarled up traffic travelling into the city.
Traffic is still thick but is hoped to ease soon.
At least five people were injured in a three-car crash between Greville Rd and Oteha Valley Rd.
Three cars were involved and one person were believed to be trapped. Five people have also received minor injuries.
Police, the fire service and an ambulance were at the scene.
The New Zealand Transport Authority warned motorists to avoid the area and take a different route.
An earlier crash blocked a citybound lane after Northcote but has since been cleared.
