Hammer attack murder-accused due in court

A man accused of murdering a young man in Panmure last year is due to stand trial.

Jiaxin Tu, 35, is charged with the murder of Shane Hawe-Wilson, 19, at a Panmure home in July last year.

Mr Hawe-Wilson was allegedly struck on the back of a head with a hammer while he slept.

The trial starts in the High Court in Auckland on Monday.
