New Zealand will donate $10 million to help Fiji rebuild after February's devastating cyclone.
Foreign Minister Murray McCully today announced the funding would go towards restoring infrastructure destroyed in the wake of category-five Cyclone Winston.
A $500,000 chunk of the funding will be used to supply building materials for New Zealand Defence Force projects on the Lau Islands.
Navy ship HMNZS Canterbury's deployment to Fiji has been extended and it will remain in the islands until mid-April to support construction tasks.
The remainder of the money will go towards rebuilding schools, evacuation centres and medical facilities.
New Zealand will also provide support to Fiji's dairy sector and agricultural exporters, Mr McCully said.
So far New Zealand has provided more than $15M in aid to Fiji following the cyclone.
