A woman has been hit by a train on State Highway 2 in Pukehina, Bay of Plenty this morning.
Two ambulances attended the scene and the person has been taken to Tauranga Hospital by helicopter with minor injuries to her legs.
The Fire Service and police are also in attendance. They were called out just before 10:40am.
The woman had been on a small bridge around a bend in the tracks which left her out of sight from the train near the Otamarakau Marae, police say.
Police have been working alongside WorkSafe NZ regarding the incident.
