An elderly Christchurch woman is recovering in hospital after being attacked by dogs.
The woman, in her 70s, was taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries on Monday at 3:30pm, St John spokesperson Ian Henderson says.
The woman was at a property in Spreydon and attacked by three Shar Pei/Collie cross dogs. All three were registered and seized by Christchurch City Council. They will be held until a decision on prosecution is made.
A hospital spokesperson says the woman is still in hospital but "comfortable".
It comes after a spate of dog attacks, one where a young boy was bitten on the face.
