A two-year-old has died after he was run over by a car at the Cowles Stadium carpark in Christchurch.
An ambulance arrived at the scene after being alerted to the incident just after 4:30pm, but the child passed away while they were administering treatment.
An investigation into the circumstances of the boy's death is now underway.
The police have offered their deepest sympathy to the family of the child.
