A pig hunter who was missing in bush around Makahika, near Levin has been found with the use of a Defence Force helicopter.
According to police, the man in his 20s was found near a steam by the NH90 helping ground teams in the search.
A medic was lowered down to help the man who has a leg injury and possible hypothermia. Ambulance paramedics will also help him on the ground.
The search for the man began yesterday after his companion raised an alarm with authorities when they became separated.
The area had an overnight temperature of 2degC.
