A gang has been linked to the shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Hamilton in what police have described as a new low.
The teen was shot and injured in what police describe as a murder attempt in Norrie St on June 16.
Two other shootings occurred in that street in the same week.
Police now want to hear from people who saw members of the Taupo Mongrel Mob in the area on that day.
"Gangs are often associated with the use of firearms but targeting a 14-year-old in this manner is a new low," Detective Sergeant Andrew Saunders said.
"The actions of the offenders can only be described as gutless and we encourage anyone with information to please come forward."
Officers have also identified a distinctive car with a silver/grey driver's side panel that is of interest to their investigation.
