The Tuakau brother and sister who caused a major search when they went missing earlier in July are now safe with family, police have confirmed.
Seven-year-old Anahera McLean, wearing just a Frozen branded onesie, and her 15-year-old brother Te Morehu left their Tuakau address late at night on July 18 with a suitcase.
It did not appear that an argument had sparked their disappearance but police were concerned for Anahera because of her age.
The pair were close and Te Morehu was very protective of his sister, police said.
On Monday police said they had received information signalling that the children were safe with family and there are no immediate concerns for their family.
Police are inquiring to find out what caused the incident.
