A woman in Palmerston North has been hospitalised after she was subjected to a serious sexual assault by three or more men on Tuesday night.
Police are investigating the attack which happened around midnight in the suburb of Highbury.
She received serious injuries and was admitted to Palmerston North Hospital.
There are two scene examinations underway, one of which was guarded overnight.
A number of witnesses who'd been in contact with the victim leading up to the attack are being interviewed.
But they want to hear from anyone else who may have information about the attack to call police on (06) 351 3600 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
