Waiheke schools get $40m upgrades

Two Waiheke Island schools are getting major makeovers at a total cost of $40 million.

Education Minister Hekia Parata says Te Huruhi School will have new buildings, including a library and administrative centre, on a new position on the school site.

Waiheke High School will have most of its buildings upgraded and there will be a new performing arts centre.

Design work will start soon with construction anticipated at the beginning of 2018.
