Earlier this year, Air New Zealand announced they would stop flying between Auckland and Whanganui because the route was no longer economically viable.
The town was not taking the news lying down and before long Air Chathams announced it would step into the breach.
Story travelled on its first flight to Whanganui but we soon found out, it was a hook the town was using for much more.
The small town wants to set the record straight and it began with the airline saviour.
