Newshub has obtained exclusive footage showing the remains of a helicopter that tipped on its side near Queenstown, injuring at least one tourist.

The helicopter rolled at Mount Sale on Monday afternoon after it got into trouble making a snow landing.

Aerial footage of the chopper, owned by tour company Helicopter Line, shows it tipped on its side with the rotor blade laying just metres from its body

Four people were taken to hospital, one with a leg injury, after the accident at around 3pm. There were two Australian tourists, three Chinese tourists and the pilot on board at the time.

The company frequently takes groups to Mt Sale for a sightseeing trip.
