An armed man may still be on the loose in Napier, but police say the public isn't at risk.
William Colenso College was locked down on Thursday morning, its 400 students and staff kept inside for hours.
The armed offenders squad was called to a Kelvin Pl house around 9am, searching for a man involved in a domestic dispute.
They looked at addresses where the man might be and the surrounding areas, but still haven't found him.
But in a statement, police say the community is not at risk.
Officers thanked members of the public for their patience while cordons were in place. They've all since been lifted.
