A 12-year-old boy will appear in the Auckland Youth Court today following a series of aggravated liquor store robberies.

Three other boys, aged 13 and 15, and a 26 year-old woman - related to three the boys - have also been charged.

Police say the arrests follow weeks of enquiries, and a number of search warrants in south Auckland yesterday.

The Liquor Legends store in Mount Roskill was robbed twice in July, and again August.

Two of the staff had been injured in the August 13 robbery, with one hospitalised after he was bottled in the back of the head and another injured by a plank of wood smashed around his eye and knee.

Following the robberies, the store had been leaving its doors locked after 6pm so it could monitor each customer that came in.
