A homicide investigation has been launched after an unexplained death at a Dinsdale property last week.
Police were called to a Poaka Ave address on Wednesday, where the body of Brent Paul Brown was found.
They say the 45-year-old was known to police.
A post-mortem revealed Mr Brown had sustained multiple injuries, but the cause of death is inconclusive.
"This is why a homicide inquiry has now commenced," says Detective Inspector Hywel Jones.
"Mr Brown suffered a number of injuries in an attack where we believe a blunt instrument was used."
Other residents in the property where Mr Brown lived have spoken to police.
"But we are seeking anyone else who had seen him from about midday on Tuesday up until the time of his death, which was before 11pm on Wednesday," says Det Insp Jones.
The scene is still under forensic examination and police are still searching for the weapon.
