Another dumping of snow is expected for southern parts of the country after an unseasonal deposit blanketed Queenstown on Wednesday.
MetService is warning the snow level will lower to about 500m in inland Otago and Canterbury on Friday with some lower valleys expected to also get some snowfall.
There are also snow warnings for Milford Road, Lindis Pass, Porters Pass and Arthurs Pass - which could be hazardous for motorists.
Snow fell unexpectedly in Central Otago on Wednesday which saw power cuts, fallen debris and road closures.
