Many of us have probably dreamed about living off the grid at some point - relying on solar power, growing your own vegetables and living in harmony with your distant neighbours.
Well, we have a place exactly like that in New Zealand. From golden beaches with dramatic cliffs to the wild bush home and secluded personal paradises - Great Barrier Island does seem to have it all.
Although perhaps not so surprisingly, life is not always as idyllic as you would expect.
